DENVER (KDVR) — The Mead Police Department gave a local boy a Life Saving Award after he rescued his little sister from drowning in a pool.
On June 30, officers responded to a home in the Margil neighborhood for a report of a child in distress in a swimming pool.
The officers found the boy, Lani Schaad, with his sister and family in the driveway. The girl was alert but scared and tired after the incident, police said.
