NORTHGLENN, Colo. (KDVR) — Dozens of parents lined up outside of Hulstrom K-8 in Northglenn on Tuesday for the school’s annual welcome back parade for all grades heading back from summer break.
“Oh gosh, every year it’s like I have to summer with her and then go back to school,” Clark Allen, a dad of a second grader at Hulstrom K-8, said. “It’s hard to let her go. They line up outback, and we say our goodbyes. I always need one more hug, one more goodbye.”

The school has a unique welcome back with a parade that starts with the 8th graders, then all other grades walk through. The school has been doing it for over a decade as a way to get kids excited but also shake the nerves of going back.
“She’s very excited, super excited she got the teacher and two of her best friends in her class,” Allen said. “She’s super excited to be back at school.”…
