This year’s retro Broomfield Days festival logo harkens back to a style from an era when Broomfield, as a city, was young.
Broomfield was incorporated — or officially became a city — in 1961 when it only had a population of about 6,000, according to the city’s website. Though much has changed about the area since then, the winner of the annual Broomfield Days logo design contest nods to the past with her winning piece.
“I was having a hard time for a while coming up with (a design) — it’s one of those things where’s there’s so many ideas and so many possibilities that it can be really hard to narrow it down,” said Liz Carney, adding that just days before the contest deadline, she tried returning to her roots to find the winning idea…
