All-New Series Gets Kids Up & Moving — Hiking, Dancing and Chasing Down Real Science Outdoors with Colorado-Renowned Entertainers Jeff & Paige
BOULDER, Colo. — September, 2026 — What happens when kids’ questions become outdoor adventures? “Rainbow Socks,” a new live-action musical series for children ages 4-8, combines original music, movement, hands-on science and Spanish vocabulary to encourage young viewers to explore the world around them. The series premieres Sunday, Oct. 4, at 8 a.m. MT on Rocky Mountain PBS.
Filmed in Boulder, Colorado, “Rainbow Socks” follows renowned performers and educators Jeff Kagan, Paige Doughty, and Shaun Derik as they explore the science behind the world around them, from lightning and rocks to animals and chocolate. Through original music, movement, outdoor adventures, and hands-on experiments, each episode encourages young viewers to get curious and explore for themselves.
