The former deputy seen Monday shooting at the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office told his wife he was going to Boulder to kill “everyone” in the hours before he was arrested. He told another deputy not three weeks earlier that he planned “to commit suicide by cop with you all,” according to an arrest affidavit.
Tyler Boyd Reilly, 40, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. Monday morning, after the Sheriff’s Office shooting and an earlier shooting at the Broomfield Police Department, in which he is suspected of firing at several police vehicles, possibly totaling one. He faces charges related to each shooting, including attempted first-degree burglary, felony menacing with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief between $100,000 and $1 million, according to a Monday afternoon release.
Reilly is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail because of his former employment at the Boulder County Jail. Boulder County Court Judge David Archuleta ordered Reilly on Tuesday afternoon to be held on $5 million secure bail, and that he have no contact with anyone at the Sheriff’s Office, the Boulder County Jail, the Broomfield Police Department or anyone who could have been a victim in the shooting…
