RTD to receive $44 million to expand Denver metro transit service

The Regional Transportation District will receive $44 million from the Colorado Clean Transit Enterprise to increase service frequency, extend operating hours and add or expand routes across the Denver metro area.

The funding, announced Oct. 2, will support more frequent Flatiron Flyer service between Denver and Boulder and service between Boulder and Denver International Airport. RTD estimates the improvements will generate nearly 3.8 million additional rides in 2027 and could eventually support more than 6.5 million additional rides annually.
