Family of Man Fatally Shot by Longmont Police Demands Accountability at City Council

Family members and supporters of a 20-year-old man fatally shot by a Longmont police officer in August called for accountability during Tuesday’s City Council meeting, questioning the department’s handling of a confrontation involving a reported mental health crisis.

Approximately three dozen people attended the October 6 meeting to speak about the death of Dariss Yearby, who was shot by police August 10 during a domestic disturbance near Creekside Drive and Eagle View Circle.
