The unidentified 36-year-old man was wearing a wingsuit when he died, according to the Longmont Public Safety Department
A Colorado man died Saturday when his parachute failed after he jumped out of a plane operated by a local skydiving company, authorities said.
The 36-year-old man, whose identity was withheld pending release by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, was wearing a wingsuit when he died, according to the Longmont Public Safety Department .
Police and first responders responded around 3:30 p.m. to reports of the death at the Vance Brand Municipal Airport, where Mile-Hi Skydiving operates.
According to a report by ABC 7 Denver , multiple deaths have been connected to the company in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Mile-Hi Skydiving has operated since 1995.
Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration are currently investigating Saturday’s death, according to Longmont Public Safety.
