Denver weather: Multiple days of highs above 60 continues

If Sunday’s warm temperatures were an indication of things to come then you’d be correct as high temperatures in the 60s melts out the metro area Monday through Thursday.

Denver residents can expect mostly sunny skies Monday, with a high near 61, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. A south southwest wind will blow between 5 to 7 mph, becoming northeast in the afternoon.

Monday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 31 and a south wind around 6 mph.

By late Friday through next weekend, there is growing confidence that a low pressure system will bring heavy precipitation to our forecast area. Depending on the track of the storm, moderate to heavy snowfall may occur in the mountains and foothills. Lower elevations may see a mix of rain and snow throughout this event and there is a small chance that moderate to heavy snow occurs. This period will need to be watched for the potential for a high impact event.

Here’s the full forecast from the National Weather Service.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 64. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming east southeast in the afternoon.
