Update: Denver homeless dashboard shows 70 House1000 exits

Seventy people have left Denver’s House1000 program so far, according to the city’s online dashboard tracking homelessness.

The data shows 23 people have returned to unsheltered homelessness and 21 people have unknown whereabouts. Seven are in indoor shelters outside of the House1000 system. Six people have gone to jail and four have died.

Five people have moved into leased units and two have been reunified with family. Just one person has gone into drug and alcohol treatment.

Critics of House1000 have said so-called wraparound services aren’t being utilized. Of 1,245 people moved indoors from homeless encampments, only about half of one percent have left the program. Of those, far more have returned to unsheltered homelessness or unknown whereabouts than have moved into permanent housing with leased units.

As the city cleared encampments, 248 people initially went into leased apartments and 43 experienced reunification with family, according to the dashboard.
