Deion Sanders, Colorado Lose RB To Transfer Portal

The revolving door at Colorado continued spinning on Tuesday.

Running back Dylan Edwards announced he plans to enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Last year as a freshman, Edwards was the leading rusher in a Colorado offense that didn’t emphasize the running game. He had 76 carries, 321 yards and one touchdown as he worked in a committee backfield with Anthony Hankerson, who transferred to Oregon State earlier in the offseason.

Edwards was third on the team in total yards from scrimmage (620), trailing wideouts Xavier Weaver (923) and Travis Hunter (721).

Head coach Deion Sanders seemingly braced for Edwards’ departure on Monday by receiving a commitment from former Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden.

Colorado’s been the busiest team in the transfer portal, according to data from On3.

The program leads the country with 39 transfers out but is also first in incoming transfers (30). Per On3 , the Buffaloes rank third overall in the site’s transfer portal team rankings.
