17-Year-Old Teen Shot While Looking For Spot To Take Homecoming Pictures

A Colorado teen was shot in the face by a town council member as he was looking for a place to take homecoming pictures, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said per KDVR .

The shooting of the 17-year-old teen unfolded on Tuesday (September 10) at a home in Mountain View, Colorado. The sheriff’s office received a report from the homeowner of two trespassers on her property. The homeowner also called her boyfriend to inform him about the alleged trespassers.

The teen told deputies that he had driven to the property with another juvenile to see if they could use it as a location for homecoming photos. According to the sheriff’s office, the boys parked their vehicle at the home’s gate, jumped the fence, and walked up to the residence to speak with the owner.

When no one answered the door, the teens walked around the property to find out if anyone was home. After not finding anyone, the boys went back to their vehicle and began writing a note for the homeowner.

A man, identified by police as 38-year-old Brent Metz , a Mountain View council member, then pulled up next to their vehicle, exited his truck, and shot the 17-year-old driver through the windshield.
