‘Killdozer’ vigilante built bulletproof tank to destroy Colorado town in $7m rampage

A vigilante destroyed 13 buildings in a small Colorado town with his modified bulldozer known as the Killdozer – and ended up killing himself .

Marvin Heemeyer, from Granby, went on the bulldozer rampage that caused $7 million worth of damages along with a .50 caliber rifle , a .22 long rifle and a .308 semi-automatic rifle .

Heemeyer did not target a person on his vigilante mission but had a longstanding dispute with local zoning commissions, reports the Express US . The city greenlit the construction of a concrete plant adjacent to Heemeyer’s property in 2001.

Heemeyer, a car repair shop owner, welder, and veteran, tried to get revenge on the city by modifying a Komatsu D355A bulldozer to damage the town . He fit it with armored plates to shield the cabin and a new engine. The vigilante also installed three-inch bulletproof plastic throughout the cockpit and set up an observation deck with two monitors to record the ensuing destruction.
