Colorado’s Deion Sanders Gets Strong Review From Arizona Coach Brent Brennan

Colorado football is preparing for a crucial Big 12 matchup against Arizona, one of the former Pac-12 programs that made the move with the Buffaloes to their new conference. Arizona saw significant upheaval on top of the conference move this offseason. The Wildcats saw head coach Jedd Fisch depart for Washington following Huskies coach Kalen DeBoer’s move to Alabama in January. Arizona hired Brent Brennan from San José State to lead the program moving forward. Brennan discussed the upcoming game with Colorado and his counterpart, Deion Sanders, during a Monday media session.

The Buffaloes fell to 4-2, suffering their first Big 12 loss of the season in a 31-28 nailbiter to Kansas State. Arizona’s up-and-down season hit another valley, as the Wildcats were the latest victim of undefeated BYU, losing 41-19 in Provo.

After last year’s 10-3 season, which culminated in an Alamo Bowl in over Oklahoma, Arizona has come back to the pack in 2023. It is still a very talented team, led by the quarterback-wide receiver combination of Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan, which gave Colorado fits a year ago in a 34-31 Wildcats win.
