Caught on camera: Moose in Steamboat Springs excited about Monday morning snow

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Snow is falling across Colorado, and many people, including one happy moose in Steamboat Springs, are excited about the upcoming winter season.

A storm rolled in overnight Sunday, coating many parts of the state with a few inches of snow .

While only a few snowstorms have passed through Colorado this season, the most recent dusting has seasonal business owners, ski areas and even a moose excited about the change in weather

On Monday morning, a moose was captured on a Steamboat Springs resident’s Ring camera playing in a backyard, which is near the area of Fish Creek Falls Road.

In the video, which can be watched in the player above, the moose is seen prancing and jumping through the snow. The resident, Shannon Lukens, said the young moose was accompanied by its sibling and mother.

Lukens said the trio walked through her neighborhood before stopping in her backyard to play. The young moose was prancing in the light coating before Lukens said it saw its reflection in the window, got scared and ran away.
