GOLDEN, Colo. (KDVR) — The search is on for a woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of checks from a Golden church’s mailbox.
It happened at Hillside Community Church at the intersection of Ford and First Streets. The Golden Police Department and Metro Denver Crime Stoppers said the recent burglaries happened between August and October.

“Tough times for people I guess,” said Brian, a nearby neighbor. “People do crazy things.”
Neighbors were in disbelief learning of the recent church burglaries.
“Pretty nuts stealing from a church,” said Brian.
Police say the woman pictured here stole multiple checks totaling more than $5,000 from the Hillside Community Church’s mailbox.
After the theft surveillance footage revealed the suspect returning several times throughout the month of October to burglarize the church’s mailbox.
