Broomfield mobile home hit by speeding car, and neighbors say it isn’t the first time

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (KDVR) — A Broomfield mobile home was struck by a car early Wednesday morning and it isn’t the first time.

It was about 5 a.m. Wednesday when the family of a mobile home inside Front Range Mobile Home Park was woken up by a car hitting the edge of their home.

Denver police sergeant arrested, placed on off-line duty during investigation

Their surveillance camera caught the whole thing. The vehicle can be seen speeding through the area, before losing control, hitting a curb, and coming barreling into the home, before the driver runs from the scene.

Mindy Miller has lived in the mobile home park for 15 years and said speeding and teenagers racing in the area have been an issue for years.

“The speeding in here is really out of control. We don’t have full-size streets, we don’t have sidewalks. Since we’re private property, it’s hard to get the local police to help do speed traps or come in and patrol,” Miller said. “I’ve requested speed bumps but they say it interferes with plowing. It’s a tough spot.”
