DENVER ( KDVR ) — Months after Eldora Mountain Ski Resort hit the market, the town of Nederland said it was interested in acquiring the Boulder County ski area.
In August, POWDR, the owner of several ski areas, announced the sale of resorts across the country — including Eldora.

Eldora’s ownership is still up in the air, but there is at least one potential buyer in sight.
On Friday, the town of Nederland announced its interest in the purchase of the ski resort on social media. The town said on Facebook that “there’s still a lot to figure out,” but the sale could bring many opportunities to Nederland.
What the Eldora sale could mean for Nederland
The town said the purchase would allow control over the resort, which means there would be local control, economic development and potentially affordable housing.
The town said more control over the area would mean year-round access, along with activities like concerts, night skiing and summer events.
