Thule to lay off 22 at Longmont facility

Thule Inc., a maker of bicycle and ski racks and other storage containers, intends to lay off 22 of the 40 workers at its facility in Longmont by Oct. 30 with the apparent aim of closing the facility.

In a WARN notice filed Wednesday with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the company said the layoffs at 2420 Trade Centre Ave. would include product managers, product designers, product developers, project managers, pattern designers, an image and video manager, graphic artists, a customer service manager, logistics analysts, an electronic data interchange programmer and a system administrator.

The state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires 60 days’ advance notice of a closure or layoffs by employers with 100 or more full-time workers…
