It’s a cloudy Friday with sprinkling rain down by Boulder Creek and the Boulder Public Library at 1001 Arapahoe Ave.
A gray minivan’s trunk is open as Libby Ogletree hooks up members of the homeless community with breakfast sandwiches. She calls it The Breakfast Club. This spot, in the heart of downtown, is one of the many centralized locations for those living on the street to get some resources, nourishment, or a break so they can get to the next day.
But this civic area, which also stretches to downtown landmarks such as the Glen Huntington Bandshell near Canyon Boulevard and Broadway, is targeted for economic revitalization efforts in the coming years. And that has some homeless community members and their advocates worried. A map on the Boulder city website shows the civic area to be between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue and in between Ninth and 14th streets…
