LONGMONT, Colo. — The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported threat to aircraft safety after someone claimed they shot at a small plane flying near Longmont’s municipal airport on Friday evening.
A city employee alerted the sheriff’s office around 7:24 p.m. on May 9 after receiving a voicemail from an unidentified caller who said they had fired a gun at an ultralight aircraft near Vance Brand Longmont Municipal Airport, located at 229 Airport Road.
Officials said no injuries or aircraft damage have been reported. The investigation has not found evidence that confirms a shot was fired, and no victims have been identified…
