US 285 northbound reopened south of Morrison after hour-long closure due to deadly crash

DENVER (KDVR) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said a deadly crash involving a possible wrong-way driver closed U.S. 285 northbound south of Morrison for several hours Monday morning.

The closure was on U.S. 285 at Colorado 8, according to a sheriff’s office post on X just before 6 a.m., and the road was closed until the sheriff’s office reported it had reopened around 12 p.m.

According to a CSP press release, a possible wrong-way driver hit two other vehicles. That driver was the only person in that vehicle and was taken to a hospital for life-threatening injuries.

The first vehicle hit also had only a driver in it, who was taken to a hospital for assessment as a precautionary measure…
