A little over a century ago, the University of Colorado (CU Boulder) campus was predominantly composed of white students and was primarily male. In 1914, a black male student graduated from the university, and four years later, Lucile B. Buchanan, the first black woman, followed suit. In 1924, CU Boulder Law School had its first African American graduate.
