Longmont seniors can bag up free fresh produce, groceries during Hunger Action Month

The city of Longmont’s Senior Citizens Advisory Board is partnering with Longmont Food Rescue to combat food insecurity in the community as a part of Hunger Action Month, a national initiative that advocates to end hunger throughout the country.

A free food distribution for residents 55 and older will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave.

Seniors can expect to receive fresh produce, eggs, baked goods and other staples and are asked to bring reusable shopping bags from home.
