The streets of Denver became the unexpected stage for a high-speed chase on Tuesday afternoon as the Aurora Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension & Narcotics Unit (FANU) brought to an end the flight of a suspect wanted for attempted homicide. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Juan Ayala-Uroza, was located after diligent investigation work at a storage unit near E. 40th and Chambers. The sequence of events, detailed in a social media post by the Aurora Police Department, started when Ayala-Uroza, sensing law enforcement’s eyes upon him, left the area in his Chevy truck.
As the Aurora SWAT units approached, what appeared to be a casual drive quickly turned into a vehicular chase after it became evident that the officers’ presence was no secret to the suspect. “Before enforcement could happen, the suspect went into Denver.
