Parker-area man gets probation after hitting a cyclist with his pickup truck east of Boulder

A man was sentenced Friday to a year of probation for a March hit-and-run crash that left a cyclist seriously injured in the Gunbarrel area.

Dustin Kelsey, 46, of the Parker area, pleaded guilty in a Thursday plea deal to one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury. One count of careless driving causing serious bodily injury to a vulnerable road user and one count of failure to stop at a red light were dropped as part of the plea deal.

Kelsey was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 20 hours of community service…
