If they build it, maybe no one will come?
The city of Boulder is looking to curb nighttime rowdiness along Flagstaff Road. It plans to install barriers, fencing and gates at various points along a 1.2-mile stretch on the popular road this fall to prevent overnight parking or activities. That comes with the hope to deter “illegal activities” and the possibility of sparking wildfires, according to an emailed statement from Boulder Fire-Rescue public information officer Jamie Barker.
The plan is to install temporary metal fencing and gates at the Panorama Point trailhead, and barriers at road pull-offs. According to a presentation at an August city Planning Board meeting, the target areas are the Halfway House and Panorama Point trailheads, and seven road pull-offs.
