Armed convenience store robbery suspect appeared to be seeking police confrontation

DENVER (KDVR) — Nearly 70 rounds were fired in a deadly shootout that took place between a robbery suspect and Denver police.

Police were called to the Maverik convenience store in the 3200 block of South Parker Road on Oct. 27 at 8:45 p.m. Video of the officer-involved shooting was released on Monday.

One officer can be heard saying on his police radio, “There was shots fired.”
