Man arrested in 2003 homicide confessed to killing, indictment says

THORNTON, Colo. — An Iowa man who was arrested in September in connection with a 22-year-old Thornton cold case called authorities and admitted to killing the woman, according to an indictment obtained by 9NEWS.

In September, the Dubuque, Iowa Police Department arrested 55-year-old Robert McClain in relation to the 2003 murder of Rosa Arguello. According to police, Arguello, a member of the Hopi Tribe, was found dead in a field in the 12000 block of Quebec Street in October 2003. An autopsy found that she had been stabbed multiple times.

At the time of his arrest, police did not say how McClain was connected to her killing. The indictment says she was last seen alive at McClain’s residence during the evening of Oct. 15, 2003. Two days later her body was found in the field off Quebec Street…
