DENVER (KDVR) — A man accused of stealing a shuttle bus and using it to intentionally try and hit first responders on Interstate 70 in October has been arrested, the U.S. Marshals Service announced Friday.
Jared Brooks, 30, was wanted by the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office on four counts of first-degree attempted murder – extreme indifference to human life, two counts of first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, two counts of vehicular eluding, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and conspiracy to commit aggravated motor vehicle theft.

The charges are connected to a string of incidents on Oct. 10, where a shuttle bus was stolen in Georgetown and then fled on I-70. Video from inside the shuttle bus was shared earlier this week by the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.
The video from the shuttle bus shows the vehicle barreling toward first responders, who were assisting with a vehicle crash on I-70, and the driver intentionally swerving to try and hit the four people in the roadway. In the footage, the suspect can be heard talking about the shuttle bus being the “perfect disguise” and may have also called the first responders, which included two Idaho Springs police officers, “pigs.”
