FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. — An Adams County jury convicted a man of first-degree murder nearly two years after he fatally stabbed a 20-year-old woman at a Federal Heights apartment complex.
Following a six-day trial, jurors convicted 37-year-old Adrian Carracedo-Vega on Nov. 24 for killing Sachely Diaz on Dec. 30. 2023.
Around 3 p.m. on that day, Federal Heights Police responded to the Tuscan Heights Apartments near 1700 West 85th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Diaz near the apartment’s dumpsters, suffering from multiple stab wounds…
