GOLDEN, Colo. (KDVR) — A game store in Golden is cleaning up after a smash-and-grab burglary early Monday morning that left broken glass, damaged display cases and thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise.
Surveillance video from Atomic Games on Youngfield Street shows two thieves smashing the store’s front glass door just after 4 a.m. The pair crawled inside and immediately began breaking open glass display cases, stuffing gaming cards, dice and figurines into large trash bags.

“They filled up three large garbage bags with as much merchandise as they could grab and carry,” owner Gene Haverkamp said. “Almost like a cartoon villain-style loot. Stuff was falling out as they were trying to run.”
