Colorado paramedic appeals homicide conviction in 2019 death of Elijah McClain

DENVER (CN) — A former firefighter asked the Colorado Court of Appeals on Wednesday to overturn a jury’s conviction of criminally negligent homicide for his role in the 2019 death of Elijah McClain, an unarmed Black man.

“This case has national implications for paramedics,” warned attorney Frederick Yarger on behalf of Jeremy Cooper.
