Broomfield fire ban in effect as windstorm approaches

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (KDVR) — Fire danger is a growing concern as high winds remain in the forecast along Colorado’s front range. A Level 2 Fire Ban remains in place for the Broomfield area amid extremely dry conditions.“Anything that causes a spark can be picked up by the wind and cause a grass fire pretty quickly” North Metro Fire Rescue spokesperson Katie Converse told FOX31.

North Metro’s Wildland Team battles fires across the nation. Crews are monitoring areas near Broomfield in a brush truck checking wind speeds and humidity as they search for fire fuels that could spark disaster.
