Multiple agencies join search for boy reported missing east of Boulder

Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Wednesday night were searching for a boy who was reported missing east of Boulder earlier in the day.

Early Wednesday afternoon, the Boulder County Communications Center received a call reporting a 14-year-old boy as missing, according to Carrie Haverfield, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. The boy, identified as Max Runner, was last seen near Mackintosh Academy at 6717 South Boulder Road around 1:46 p.m., according to a Wednesday evening sheriff’s office release. Runner is a student at the school, according to Vinnie Montez, a sheriff’s office spokesperson.

Max has long, light brown hair and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants, a black baseball cap with a rainbow on the brim and yellow shoes, as shown in a post to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office X page. Max has autism and is considered to be endangered.

Multiple agencies are searching for the boy on foot and on horseback in the area between Baseline Road and South Boulder Road from north to south and Cherryvale Road to 95th Street from west to east.
