Iconic Colorado Bar to Close After 51 years

When you walk into a bar, sometimes the vibe catches you off guard. In a good way. That is how one Colorado bar feels once you walk through the doors. Since 1975, The Dark Horse Bar has been a hangout for locals, University of Colorado students, live music fans, and those who want great vibes.

World Famous Dark Horse Bar in Boulder to Close

The World Famous Dark Horse announced on Friday, December 13, that after its 51st anniversary, it will yell “last call” for the final time. According to the Facebook post from the World Famous Dark Horse, the final day will happen next month.

The announcement says that it is not the path the Dark Horse would have chosen, and they are deeply grateful to have been a part of Boulder‘s culture for more than half a century.

As sad as we are, we plan to honor the Dark Horse by closing with as much joy, energy, and fun as possible. We invite you to utilize this final month, especially March 14th, to come make some final memories, enjoy the history, and honor the legacy that we have built together as a business and a community. Let’s end this era with a Bang!
