YMCA of Boulder Valley sued for violating child-care license, lease while operating Bailey summer camp

The YMCA of Boulder Valley violated its child-care license by registering too many children for its summer camp near Bailey in 2023 and 2024, according to a lawsuit filed in Park County District Court in August, and later moved to Boulder County.

The Mary M. Dower Benevolent Corporation, a nonprofit that leased the camp to the YMCA, also alleges the YMCA did not provide enough scholarships for underserved children as part of the camp’s mission, did not pay for damage it caused to the camp and violated other lease terms during its time operating the camp…
