BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Police said some drivers are intentionally concealing their license plates to avoid paying toll fees in Colorado.
The Broomfield Police Department said it has stopped more than 150 drivers since the beginning of the year for deliberately altering or obscuring their license plates.
The police department said examples of toll evasion its found this year include using “spilled” paint or grease to cover letters or numbers, ripping outdated temporary tags in half, removing plates entirely, installing dark-tinted plate covers, using fake souvenir plates, and displaying handwritten or dealership plates…
