A Colorado police department has opened an internal investigation after one of its officers allegedly made a comment on social media suggesting that “headshots would work better” in reference to handling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

The allegation surfaced amid heightened national tensions surrounding federal immigration enforcement and recent deadly encounters involving federal officers.
