Broomfielder captures photographs of the unhoused in an effort to humanize them and their experiences

With her photographs of people in Broomfield, Andrea Gamboa is working to humanize people who are experiencing homelessness.

Gamboa said she doesn’t consider herself a photographer — but just using her phone, she captures poignant portraits with a mission in mind.

“I feel the lack of compassion from people towards the unhoused population, or really, anybody that’s struggling with mental illness or addiction or trauma, and I wanted to do something that would trigger something in their hearts or in their minds,” Gamboa said…
