Students, faculty and staff from across all University of Colorado campuses are coming together to express their concerns about the university’s new contract with OpenAI, including privacy, academic misuse and cost.
The CU System announced in February that it entered into a $2.1 million contract with OpenAI to provide CU-controlled access to ChatGPT Edu for students, faculty and staff across all its campuses, effective March 31. CU President Todd Saliman and the system’s chancellors decided to move forward with the contract, according to CU system spokesperson Michele Ames.
