COLORADO, USA — Utilities across Colorado’s Front Range are tightening water restrictions as one of the driest winters in decades leaves water supplies strained and officials warning that conservation will be critical in the months ahead.
On Wednesday, Denver Water formally adopted a Stage 1 drought declaration, joining other communities like Erie and Thornton in implementing mandatory limits. In Aurora, a similar Stage 1 water shortage plan has been recommended and is scheduled for a city council vote on April 6. If approved, it would take effect the following day.
