The fluffy siblings, separated briefly during their mishap at a Walmart garden center, now share space at a nearby rehabilitation facility. An Unusual Nesting Spot Sparks Concern

A mother owl had chosen the Walmart garden center in Lafayette as her nesting site. The elevated position offered shelter amid plants and structures, but it proved risky for her offspring. One owlet took a fall first, landing below the unreachable nest.[3]

Officers from the Lafayette Police Department responded promptly. Animal Protection Officer Hettinger assessed the situation and determined the nest sat too high for safe return. The bird showed no signs of injury despite the drop.[4]
