The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland have enacted stage 1 fire restrictions that began at noon Monday to prevent the spread of wildfires.
The restrictions apply to national forests and grasslands in Boulder, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer and Weld counties, according to a U.S. Forest Service news release.
Open fires will only be allowed in permanent fire pits, fire rings and picnic grills that the U.S. Forest Service has installed in “highly developed recreation areas and campgrounds,” the release said.
