The Boulder Police Department said it is mourning the death of Officer Alex Kicera, who died over the weekend after a long battle with cancer.
In a statement posted to social media, the department said Kicera had served the Boulder community for nearly a decade and was known for his work in patrol and traffic enforcement, as well as his role responding to major incidents.
