Erie lifts emergency sprinkler directive, introduces 2-day watering schedule

Erie’s water situation is easing up, for now. After town officials directed the community to halt all outdoor irrigation systems through the last weeks of March, they now say that residents, HOAs and businesses can follow a two-day-per-week watering schedule.

The town rescinded its “Water Supply Emergency Determination” on Friday, as water supply conditions have improved with larger, summer levels that become available in April.

While the sprinkler directive has been eased, the town still asks that property owners participate in a voluntary watering schedule to help “maintain a reliable water supply throughout the warmer months during this severe drought in Colorado,” an announcement from Erie says…
