THORNTON, Colo. — Thornton Police are looking into allegations that one police department’s Flock license plate reader account ran nearly 20,000 searches between October 2023 and Dec 2025, with only 29 tied to case numbers.
The request for an ethics investigation was sent to the city earlier this month by Jacob Wilson, of Thornton For All, a group that has been advocating for changes to the city’s automated-license plate reading system
The complaint says the account, identified in public records as “D. McT”, stood out far above others on the third-party website, Have I Been Flocked, which compiles public records of Flock data audits from Flock’s national camera network…
