Light was red for several seconds before cyclist was struck in Golden crosswalk, police say

GOLDEN, Colo. — A man faces multiple charges including vehicular assault – DUI after a crash last month in Golden that left a cyclist critically injured.

Ian Athas, 35, is accused of running a red light and striking Kristyn Wade, who was crossing Johnson Road at U.S. Highway 6 around 8:10 a.m. on March 25.

An arrest affidavit from Golden Police shows that Athas is facing charges of DUI, vehicular assault DUI, failing to stop a red light, and driving without insurance…
