LONGMONT, Colo. — A late spring snowstorm bearing down on Colorado might seem like the last thing a farmer needs, but for one Longmont orchard owner, it could not have come at a better time.

Sharon Perdue has run Ya Ya Farm and Orchard in Longmont since 2003. She knows better than most how unforgiving Colorado’s weather can be for fruit growers.
