Coorstek project in Golden attracts coffee roaster

The developers of Golden’s Clayworks — the district built on top of the founding home of the century-old ceramics business run by the same family famous for the iconic Coors beer brand — have named the first business to open on its site.

Colorado’s acclaimed Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters will open at The Pottery building within Clayworks, the repurposed ceramic manufacturing facility set to be the future global headquarters for CoorsTek, AC Development announced last week.

It will be the coffee shop’s fourth location in the state and is set to open in Fall 2026, according to a the news release.Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters was named one of the Top 100 Coffee Shops in North America. It was founded in 2013 by award-winning roaster Andy Sprenger in Lakewood, who was later joined by Eric Yochim. It has two more locations in Westminster and Arvada.Its newest location at Clayworks will span more than 2,500 square feet with an outdoor patio. The cafe’s design will be inspired by the grinding media left behind throughout decades of ceramic industrial work done at the historic site.Jonathan Coors, Co-CEO of CoorsTek, said the development project had wanted Sweet Bloom to be part of the district since the beginning of its conception, saying the coffee chain reflected their values of “craftsmanship and community.”“From the earliest stages of planning, they stood out as the right partner to help set the tone for a community-driven destination in Golden,” Coors said…
